We price every job after seeing it. Anything discussed over the phone beforehand is an indication, not a quote. Your written quote sets out what’s included, what’s excluded and how long the price is valid.
Roofs can hide problems. If we open one up and find rot, asbestos or a structural issue, we stop, show you what we’ve found, and agree any additional cost before continuing. Nothing is ever added without your approval.
Payment terms are stated on your quote. Any materials deposit is itemised there from the outset, never introduced later.
Any guarantee we offer is set out in writing on your quote, including its length and exactly what it covers. We don’t make blanket promises on a website.
We hold public liability insurance up to £10 million and will gladly provide the certificate before work starts.
Roofing work pauses in high winds and heavy rain, for our safety and the good of your roof. If the weather affects your booked date, we’ll let you know as early as possible.
Your name, phone number, email address if you provide one, the address of the job, what you’ve told us about the roof, and any photos you send us.
To call you back, quote the work, order the correct materials and keep a record of what we did on your roof in case you need us again.
Nobody, unless it’s needed to carry out the job, for example a scaffolder who needs the address, or unless the law requires it. We never sell or share contact details, and we don’t operate mailing lists. Two service providers process data on our behalf: Vercel hosts this website, and Resend delivers enquiry form emails to us. Both are bound by data processing agreements, and any transfer outside the UK is covered by recognised safeguards.
Enquiries that don’t lead to work are deleted once they’re clearly closed. Job records are retained for as long as required for guarantees, tax and insurance purposes.
You can ask what information we hold, request a copy, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email markhutchingsm@aol.com or call 01639 722616. Where we rely on your consent, for example for analytics, you can withdraw it at any time. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
